MODIFIED CAR PREPARATION


Modified Entry Fee: $100.00
Cars can be taken home by driver

  1. The following must be removed before arriving at Jolly Roger: All glass including windshield. Doors must be clean and free of glass. Remove all lights and molding or anything that can be knocked loose onto the track. Remove rear seats, hood latched, and hood safety catches.
  2. Bumper may be changed. You must use no more than (2) 4 inch pieces of steel on each side of frame rail. Fenders may be cut for wheel clearance only and ends of bumpers may be cut off.
  3. All transmission lines must be disconnected from the radiator to prevent fluid spills. A transmission cooler may be installed under the hood or the lines must be looped.
  4. Fuel tank may be moved inside of the car, forward of the rear wheels and behind the front seat. Fuel tank must be marine type plastic or metal, six (6) gallon maximum. Fuel tank must be secure and deemed safe by the inspectors. You must cover the fuel tank.
  5. Only one battery will be permitted and may be mounted ahead of the front seat on the passenger side floor and adequatley covered. No wire can be used for secuing the battery.
  6. Welded solid or chained down engine mounts are recommended.
  7. Driver's seat support is allowed. Driver's compartment may have a 4 point cage, which means a pipe or tubing that surrounds the drivers compartment. Each post must be attached to one place on the floor per side and one place on the roof per side. Attachments may not cover more than 36 square inches (6X6). Bars or pipe not to exceed 3 inches in diameter. Bars or pipes may only be attached to the floor and roof. No bolts through the frame.
  8. All doors may be welded shut. Optional #9 wire 3-5 wraps to replace welding on doors. Trunk and tailgates must be fastened shut by weld only. No more than four (4) welds shall be on each door, trunk and tailgate with each weld being no more than two (2) inches square (area coverage of this weld shall not exceed 4 square inches). No welds on hinge side of front doors. One 12" X 12" hole shall be provided in all trunk lids.
  9. Hoods must be fastened down in four (4) places with wire only, after inspection.
  10. There must be an opening in the hood of 12 inches square or a 14" diameter over the carburetor.
  11. No double tires, liquids or foam in tires. No studs or screws in rims to hold tires. No bead lock rims.
  12. All cars must be swept clean.
  13. Rust may be repaired only if a hole exists. Surface rust does not qualify for rust repair. Equal or lesser gauge material must be used.
  14. Driver's door must be painted fluorescent green.
  15. Rear differential may be locked or welded for posi-traction.
  16. Shifting linkage may be hooked up direct to the transmission. Shifter handle must be safe.
  17. Electrical system hot wires may be installed.
  18. Air cleaner must be in place.
  19. Exhaust may be exited through the hood.
  20. Any welding deemed excessive by inspectors will be cut, no adding of any steel other than 4 point cage or bumper change.
